LeanbackOnFire is a flexible and customizable launcher for Android TV set-top boxes and TVs. The launcher itself is in the style of Google’s Android TV 6 operating system.
LeanbackOnFire allows you to customize the interface according to your preferences. Use voice search to work quickly and efficiently. Due to the absence of ads, nothing will distract you while using the launcher. You can also choose one of the suggested languages.
If the recommendations option does not work, it must be copied to the /priv-app system folder or give WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission. The katnis app voice search and Googlesearch work by default.
The app is ad-free and has a multilingual interface, and requires Android TV version 6.0-9.0 installed on your device.
LeanbackOnFire launcher is not available in the Google Play store.
- customizable user interface
- Full remote control support.
- Full customization of all tiles (rows)
- customizable banner size
- custom wallpaper support
- voice search support (depending on the system)
The application has open source code, which can be found on the official page of the author on GitHub.
As for the cons – this launcher does not yet support widgets and there is no sorting section with favorites. But it works and shows recommendations from selected applications even without services from Google.
To bypass Google’s restriction and use LeanbackOnFire on ATV by default, you can install the Home Screen Launcher for Android TV, launch it and select the desired home screen, and then use the created “Home” icon. Or simply use the FTVLaunchX utility from the developer codefaktor from GitHub.
